The Cranberries

"The Cranberries", does this name sound familiar to you? Do you enjoy their songs? Let me do a brief introduction to all of you. "The Cranberries" is a well-known Irish rock band which founded at 1989. Today, this rock band consists of 4 people. First of all, the vocalist is Dolores O'Riordan, guitarist Noel Hogan, bassist Mike Hogan and drummer Fergal Lawler. I love O'Riordan's voice, it is so unique and soothing!

Actually, O'Riordan is not the original vocal for "The Cranberries", she joined the band after the band was formed. At the begining, Niall Quinn was the original vocalist for "The Cranberries", but he left the band in less than a year. The original name for the band is "The Cranberry Saw Us", they changed it to "The Cranberries" after they sold 300 copies of their home-made demo tape. In a short period of time, they attracted the major recording company and they ended up at Island Records.

So far, they came out with 6 albums already. The first one is "Everybody else is doing it, so why can't we?", it was released on 1st of March 1993. Follow by, "No need to argue" at 1994. 2 years later, it is "To the faithful departed". "Bury the hatchet" was released in year 1999. In year 2001, they released "Wake up and smell the coffee". After another 11 years, "The Cranberries" came back with "Roses". There is no specific song I like in the latest album. But, I love "Linger" in "Everybody else is doing it, so why can't we?" The song is a reflection of love story, how cruel can a relationship be. Somehow, it triggered my heart when I listened to this song.

 Linger
You must be wondering about their appearances. "Linger" MV was recorded in 1993, approximately 10 years from now. For sure, they gain wisdom and grow older. Their passion towards music have proved that age is no an obstacle. And there is one fact which never change, they always work hard in music and come out with the best songs ever!
